You could buy extenders on another website, but they cost $25 each..... and we would need 2 for each of our bikes. Both our twin girls have Barbie 16" bikes, and they do not fit at all on the bike rack, not even w/ extenders. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

(More customer reviews)Overall the seat met or exceeded my expectations in terms of the installation, adjustment, and use. We bought it last fall and until last week hadn't used it in warm weather. After returning from a ride in the seat with my wife, my son had cuts/scratches on the inside of both arms above the elbow(wearing a t-shirt). The cause of the injuries was the edge of the large holes on the sides of the wrap-around cage. The molding process left very sharp edges like you might find on a plastic knife. I sanded down all the edges and its fine now, but as you can imagine, we were a little annoyed. It could have just been my unit and all others are fine, but I don't think something that can cause that type of injury should make it past quality inspection.

I was unable to assemble the first unit that was sent to me as one of the basket halves had a hole off location by 1/4 of an inch so I was unable to assemble. When I called the company to inform them of the part problem the offered to send me a replacement part. After waiting 2 weeks for the replacement part I was only further disappointed as they sent me the wrong part. Once again I called the company and told them of error they had made and they then said they would send me out the right this next time. After waiting another 2 weeks for the 2nd replacement part only once again to find they once again sent the wrong part. Now when I called them and told them to just send me a complete assembly and not risk getting the wrong part for a third time they agreed but only after they received all the parts they sent me along with the first whole unit. What nerve they have to expect me to box up and ship back all parts before they would send out a replacement. When I told them that if they wanted to operate this way they they can just take it all back and credit me. Their response was OK. I would not buy a single item from this company as I suspect it run by morons and they do not know what customer service is. This has been the worst experience I have had with any company. I hope this company does under as they do not deserve to be in business. No company should profit from incompetency at all levels!!!

(More customer reviews)The 60"x20" Folding Cargo Carrier Basket Hitch Tow 2" Receiver Towing I purchased from T-motorsports has a material design flaw which could result in serious injury or death. The two inch box tubing which inserts into the vehicle hitch receiver and the two inch box tubing which holds the swivel bracket is structurally inadequate. It is thin wall box tubing and is too thin to hold the weight of the cargo carrier basket securely without eventual collapse and detachment from the vehicle receiver.
In the first use of this product carrying a 20 pound propane tank, a 10 pound folding table and a 10 pound bag of Jet Ski vests the carrier showed a rearward drop. The attachment of a Jet Ski trailer with a tongue weight of 65 pounds to the two inch receiver increased the drop of the carrier.
Within a trip of 65 highway miles the combination of the 2 two inch thin walled box tubing had failed and the end of the carrier was now setting 6 inches from the pavement. The carrier was disassembled for inspection and inspected for damage. The Box tubing had collapsed.
The carrier was reassembled with structural reinforcement to raise the angle of the hitch. Within 40 miles of highway driving the carrier had failed again causing the trailer to disconnect from the ball mount.
Were it not for the owner installation of safety chains on the carrier and Jet Ski trailer, both items would have become would have been a collision point for following traffic.
I consider myself fortunate to not have had a situation resulting in serious injury or death. I will not be using this the 60"x20" Folding Cargo Carrier Basket Hitch Tow 2" Receiver Towing I purchased from T-motorsports again.

48" Folding Hitch Receiver Cargo Basket Review

(More customer reviews)My wife, 2 boys, and I took a road trip from Oklahoma to D.C. We road trip every summer but with the boys growing so much, we needed some extra space in the ol' Pathfinder. I ordered this cargo carrier and assembly was quite simple, especially for someone like me. I also ordered the locking hitch so I didn't have to worry about theft.
We were able to fit 2 large suitcases and 1 large Nike bag on the carrier (1 suitcase laid down on one side, 1 suitcase sat vertical/straight up in the middle, and the bag was on the other side). The cargo carrier created so much room for my 2 boys and wife, they almost didn't know what to do! They were able to stretch out, watch movies, and even sleep comfortably while the "cargo" rode outside in the cargo carrier. I'm so glad I purchased it. I'm wishing I had bought one YEARS ago! But hey, this "CC" (as we called it) has plenty more miles and trips to go!
The CC also folds up easily and nicely and I never heard it rattle or make noise. I did use plenty of bungie cords to make sure my cargo wasn't going anywhere. Also, make sure you do make a Plan B in case of rain. I brought several 55 gallon trash bags and that did the trick.
I would highly recommend to anyone who loves "road-trippin" and would like some extra space in their vehicle to purchase this cargo carrier! I think my wife and boys would tell you to "get it so we have room to SLEEP!"

It is amazing how often I use my Cargo Carrier to move around items that I normally wouldn't want in my vehicle, such as; sandy beach furniture, bags of concrete, grills and potentially leaking coolers. The best part about this particular model is the entire cargo carrier folds up and locks into place so that I can still have my cargo carrier with me at all times even if I'm not using it (extends about 6 inches). It makes it extremely useful to be able to leave it on the back of the vehicle when not in use and not having to take it on and off (as many times, you are away from home before you realize you need it). It turns any vehicle with a tow hitch into a 60" x 20" bed pickup truck.

Thule 835XTR Hullaport Rooftop Kayak Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)I have a Thule Roof Rack on my '08 CR-V and this Kayak carrier fits on it quickly and securely. As far as the kayak, I have a 13' Necky Manitou and it seats very well in the J-hooks. The supplied straps for each J-hook and the two ratcheting straps for either end of the boat really help to secure it down.
There is virtually no movement when traveling over bumps and >70 mph on the highway. In fact, it moves far less than my bikes do when they are on the roof rack. Getting the boat off is a breeze too (assuming it's light enough and your car isn't too tall for you). You unlatch the 4 straps and lift the boat right off, takes all of 45 seconds.
As far as wind noise of the J-hooks when you DON'T have a kayak on the roof - you don't even need to worry about it. Each J-hook fits on top of the rack and a plate swings underneath the roof rack and gets screwed to the J-hook via a thumb screw. And that is the beauty of it... when the kayak isn't on the roof, you undo one thumbscrew, swing the plate around, take the whole J-hook off and toss it in your car/truck. Saves on gas mileage and noise. Putting it back on takes 1 minute. The whole installation and removal of the J-hooks is so fast that getting the more expensive 835PRO with the fold-down J-hooks almost seems useless. Why fold it down and have someone steal it right off your car (these do not have thule locks or any lock for that matter) when you can just take it off in 20 seconds and lock it in your vehicle!
For those worried about locking the kayak to protect from theft while transporting, I have seen specific "Kayak Locks" made for J-hook style carriers that wrap around the kayak and roof rack (which I'm assuming the roof rack is locked to your roof...it should be!). They fit snugly too so you can't lift anything off the rack to get at the J-hooks. They are around $50 or so but they keep your $1000+ investment secure!

Pro Series 63154 Black 48" x 20" Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)Got it now, put it together (3 bolts + Nuts), looks like the photos here on Amazon. Here are the facts; The "Product Features" listed as of this review have the specs correct. However, the "Product Description" is wrong. This fits a 1-1/4 inch receiver (NOT a 2 inch) with a capacity of 300 pounds (NOT 500 pounds). In the manual that came with this, is does say that if you have a heavy duty (5,000LB) or better rating on the hitch on your vehicle, that this can carry 500lbs, but on the physical rack, it has a safety sticker that reads, "DO NOT EXCEED 300 lbs".
I am just telling you everything to help you make a good buying decision. It does have a good build, looks like it would last for quite a while. So if the specs I listed above fits what you are looking for, I would recommend buying it.

The wired mesh side walls are strong and held 4 suitcases and 2 folding loungers inside its cargo area. It held everything securely and made no noise at all for over 1,200 miles. It gave us extra interior space inside our van and I did'nt have to struggle getting suitcases down from a roof carrier. The Carpod is well designed, strongly made and priced right.

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these in June of 08 and hauled a 17 foot canoe from Maine to Montana. Along with two Yakima racks on my Honda Odyssey and load stops the canoe never moved an inch. Coupled with the Yakima rack system this is an excellent extension for your long canoes. Only negative thing I could say is that it's a little tippy loading. Just remember to tie down the canoe before you swing the canoe around to your roof. This is just a minor isssue.

Valley 90180 Hitch Mounted Basket with Folding Shank Review

I was thinking of buying this model: Valley 90590 Deluxe Hitch Mounted Basket Cargo Carrier, but locally I was able to buy the 90180 for about $35 less and it would fold up without needing to buy extra parts, like the 90590.
I was worried that it would rattle or klunk, but after putting 500 miles on, it hardly ever did. The only times I noticed it was when I would hit a bump diagonally (like turning into a store parking lot with a big transition). No hearing it was a bit of a problem since I couldn't hear it either; it would be so easy to forget about and back into something in a parking lot. I was desperate to figure out some way to train my mind that it was there. I just bought some tall, thin, yellow stakes from the local hardware store to mark the back corners so I can see from the driver's seat...we'll see if that works.
Also, this model has no markings or reflectors that might help other drivers see you. I bought this: American Products Company 360435 Universal 49" LED Tailgate Bar with Brake Light and Turn Indicators and will be installing that soon. That will plug into my hitch power harness and should look pretty nice.
I found that this blocks my license plate, so I'm working on a workaround for that, too.
For my vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, the spare tire that is attached to the back gate makes it so I can't fold this up unless I either buy a hitch extender: Hidden Hitch Receiver Hitch Adapter (CU-D-191)Receiver Extension - Extends 2" Receiver 8" (3,500lb GTW) or drill new holes so that it is not quite vertical when propped up. I'm not sure this matters enough to me.
I used this bag: Rola 59102 Expandable Hitch Tray Cargo Bag - 9.5-11.5 Cubic Feet and I fit two small suitcases and three small boxes. I could have still fit more stuff or bigger suitcases.
I also bought this lock: Master Lock 1480DAT Stainless Steel Receiver Lock for 5/8- and 1/2-Inch Receiver Holes to try to prevent theft.
At my destination, I was able to pull it out and carry it by myself into a garage until we packed up.
Overall, I'm very happy with it.

500 Lb Hitch Mount Hual Aluminum Cargo Carrier Basket (ALUMCARGOCARRIER#92655) Review

(More customer reviews)I suffer from horrible buyers remorse, so I tend to research 'everything' prior to paying money for it. In this case, I looked at just about all of the hitches available and ultimately went with this one for a couple reasons.
First, it's made of aluminum, so Much lighter than those made of steel without sacrificing strength, as well as rust proof--only the 2" shank is steel. Second, this carrier was half the cost of most others (and I was able to pick it up at Harbor Freight and avoid paying shipping).
It sticks straight out from the hitch, so I bought an extension with a 6" rise that helps a lot. I ordered a 48" Rola cargo bag from Amazon that fits this carrier like a glove. We can now keep all of our luggage and miscellaneous 'stuff' on the back of the car, freeing up the equivalent of an entire trunk for other things (dogs/kids/diabetic cat and litter box). It makes traveling a much more pleasant experience. :)

The box was previously opened and the parts were not bagged and I am surprised more parts were not missing. The instructions are poor and if parts are missing you are to contact the seller. The seller did not respond to my e-mail, so I am trying to find the missing part or a similar replacement. I also question whether it can support 400 lbs. The manual says you cannot drive over 55 mph with the carrier loaded. I hope I am not as disappointed with the product than I already am.
