I was unable to assemble the first unit that was sent to me as one of the basket halves had a hole off location by 1/4 of an inch so I was unable to assemble. When I called the company to inform them of the part problem the offered to send me a replacement part. After waiting 2 weeks for the replacement part I was only further disappointed as they sent me the wrong part. Once again I called the company and told them of error they had made and they then said they would send me out the right this next time. After waiting another 2 weeks for the 2nd replacement part only once again to find they once again sent the wrong part. Now when I called them and told them to just send me a complete assembly and not risk getting the wrong part for a third time they agreed but only after they received all the parts they sent me along with the first whole unit. What nerve they have to expect me to box up and ship back all parts before they would send out a replacement. When I told them that if they wanted to operate this way they they can just take it all back and credit me. Their response was OK. I would not buy a single item from this company as I suspect it run by morons and they do not know what customer service is. This has been the worst experience I have had with any company. I hope this company does under as they do not deserve to be in business. No company should profit from incompetency at all levels!!!

(More customer reviews)The 60"x20" Folding Cargo Carrier Basket Hitch Tow 2" Receiver Towing I purchased from T-motorsports has a material design flaw which could result in serious injury or death. The two inch box tubing which inserts into the vehicle hitch receiver and the two inch box tubing which holds the swivel bracket is structurally inadequate. It is thin wall box tubing and is too thin to hold the weight of the cargo carrier basket securely without eventual collapse and detachment from the vehicle receiver.
In the first use of this product carrying a 20 pound propane tank, a 10 pound folding table and a 10 pound bag of Jet Ski vests the carrier showed a rearward drop. The attachment of a Jet Ski trailer with a tongue weight of 65 pounds to the two inch receiver increased the drop of the carrier.
Within a trip of 65 highway miles the combination of the 2 two inch thin walled box tubing had failed and the end of the carrier was now setting 6 inches from the pavement. The carrier was disassembled for inspection and inspected for damage. The Box tubing had collapsed.
The carrier was reassembled with structural reinforcement to raise the angle of the hitch. Within 40 miles of highway driving the carrier had failed again causing the trailer to disconnect from the ball mount.
Were it not for the owner installation of safety chains on the carrier and Jet Ski trailer, both items would have become would have been a collision point for following traffic.
I consider myself fortunate to not have had a situation resulting in serious injury or death. I will not be using this the 60"x20" Folding Cargo Carrier Basket Hitch Tow 2" Receiver Towing I purchased from T-motorsports again.

CARPOD Hitch Mounted Cargo Rack M2200 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this carrier to haul more stuff on vacation. This Carpod carrier worked great! The wired mesh side walls are strong and held 4 suitcases and 2 folding loungers inside its cargo area. It held everything securely and made no noise at all for over 1,200 miles. It gave us extra interior space inside our van and I did'nt have to struggle getting suitcases down from a roof carrier. The Carpod is well designed, strongly made and priced right.

(More customer reviews)I have not used the carrier because I am trying to find a metric locknut for one of the latch hooks. The box was previously opened and the parts were not bagged and I am surprised more parts were not missing. The instructions are poor and if parts are missing you are to contact the seller. The seller did not respond to my e-mail, so I am trying to find the missing part or a similar replacement. I also question whether it can support 400 lbs. The manual says you cannot drive over 55 mph with the carrier loaded. I hope I am not as disappointed with the product than I already am.

(More customer reviews)This cargo-carrier-slash-luggage-cart is awesome! It is very good quality and it is durable. I drove thousands of miles with it in the cold, ice, and snow. The wheels are very good quality and are not flimsy. The size is very generous. I carried a minifridge, tents, 18 gallon plastic tubs, and a 46" TV on it. I also plan to haul some trash to the dump with it, especially since it has wheels.
So here is why I gave it four stars instead of five: The instructions stink! It doesn't tell you how to hitch it to the truck, nor how to install the handle. Luckily, the company I bought it from had some very good pictures and close-ups on how it looks when installed to the hitch. Because this cart can fold up, the hitch mount is in two pieces. You have to switch the pieces to make the different positions. It's not too hard to figure out, but it would have made the process a lot easier if the box came with good instructions. Also, the handle was a pain to figure out. See, the handle is supposed to be able to fold flat. There are a bunch of weird nuts and bolts Ive never seen before that you must use to make the handle work properly. Unfortunately, there were no pictures of that! I had to sit there and try different configurations to get it to work. Im not even sure if its correct, but there doesn't seem to be another way to get everything on AND have the handle work. I think I had one lone nut leftover. But I can't remember. It does work now and I love it.
I have a suggestion for this product. I originally thought I would just need one lock for the hitch. Wrong! If you want to lock this thing completely, you need THREE LOCKS. One for the hitch receiver, one to lock the hitch to the "knuckle", and one to lock the basket to the "knuckle." Just bring the pin they give you to the store and match it up to a lock.
Also, this basket works great on a Jeep Wrangler! WITH the spare tire on, it STILL FOLDS! Awesome! The other thing I like about this product is that you can build around the brake lights so you won't even need to get those external brake lights or whatnot. Of course, if you have that spare tire in the way, you are a bit limited, but if you don't, you can build it up high. The other good thing about this product is that you can haul quite a bit of stuff and not have a trailer. I will emphasize how much better it is to drive WITHOUT a trailer in snow and ice!!!!! I would reckon it makes life easier in the rain too. You know what else is great about not having a trailer? YOU DON'T PAY EXTRA TOLLS FOR THE AXLES ON THE TRAILER!!!
Im telling you, just get it! It is a great product and is the only one like it Ive seen. IT HAS WHEELS! You can use it in the garden, or moving stuff to the garage too! I can't say how many times Ive said "geez I wish I had a cart" and now I do! And you should too. And the price is awesome. You wont be sorry!

Highland 1042000 Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)This carrier looks slightly different to what is pictured. I'll try to post a picture later. It amazon picture shows two braces on the bottom of the frame. Even the box that the carrier arrived in shows the same picture. Apparently Highland has improved the design. They have added more support (from what I can tell) to the frame pieces on each end of the main support bar and eliminated the pictured braces. It seems to be a much better design.
The carrier assembles easily. I did snap off one bolt, but it was easily replaced. It seems to be very sturdy. Obviously, at the center it's very strong. I put my 200 plus pounds on it there and it doesn't budge. I would not stand on either end though. If you're going to load it to it's 500 pound max, weight will need to be evenly distributed. I think it will work well for my planned use. I bought it for tailgating and plan to load a small Honda generator and coolers.
Overall, I'm very impressed and happy with this carrier.

Shipping was fast, and it only took 20 minutes to put together. I bought the basket with the folding shank, and I am glad I spent the few extra $$. This basket is great for carrying large or dirty items that you do not want inside the vehicle (gas cans, sandy beach chairs, your mother-in-law). Buy one today!
