This book takes you back to the 50s and brings you right up to present through the eyes of a strong, courageous woman. I fell in love with this book and have read it a couple times....each time getting from it a whole new experience. I laughed until I cried and visa versa. You want to dive into a world of love and passion, get this book!

After becoming a registered nurse and leaving my home in Iowa, I venture to Rock Springs, Wyoming living with several other single nurses in a former student nurse housing facility. The Five G's Plus Two is a moving story of the events that surrounded the creation of the Heagney Family. Emery, Audrey and the five children, Glen, Gregg, Gaynell, Guy and Greer. A cord of love intertwines throughout as everyone experiences joy, accomplishments, tears, disappointments and loss as death touches our lives. We find the evidence of strength is provided by the presence of the Holy Spirit in each of us. The story starts when Emery and I first meet - forty-eight years ago in Rock Springs, Wyoming. There are flash backs of our lives portraying the family life we grew up with. The importance of family life is disclosed with the birth of our first born, three years after we marry. This culminates our experiences of traveling from coast to coast following pipeline construction. The chronological events conclude summing up the present day activities of the family. The Five G's Plus Two should offer laughter, hope and help to an active family, recognizing they are not alone in their quest to be all they can be on this earth. I am the mother of the Five G's and the grandmother of eight lovely children as well. (Not a throw-a-way in the bunch!) My reason for writing this is simply responding to their request. I also have a 'burn' to relay the importance and responsibility of a family and the complexity required of a parent. As time continues and retirement becomes a part of our lives, we tell the children, "Lock your doors, you never know when we are coming!" Retirement lends opportunity to Em and I to volunteer our services in Drug Rehabilitations, Church building and Family Camps.
