I've read two books by this author. The first was a 1940's flick featuring a black sheep of a wealthy family who transforms herself into a female Philip Marlowe. This book features a wild woman who rises to the top of the Black Market. The hero, Denise, is funny and knows how to catch her audience off guard with her unpredictable outbursts and mania-inspired revelations. Some of the information seems almost too authentic...it makes you wonder if the author has a rap sheet. If you like books by Janet Evanovich, Carl Hiaissan or Elmore Leonard, you'll really enjoy Black Market Princess.

Meet Denise Rutledge. Uneducated. Unstable. A member of America's new upper class...Denise Rutledge can't have a normal life. Uneducated and severely bipolar, her only hope of escaping a minimum wage existence is to become a key player in a multi-billion dollar industry where mobsters, ministers, nonprofit organizations, and Fortune 1000 executives strike secret deals that often prove deadly. As she navigates the dark and perilous distribution channels, Denise must outwit a host of enemies, including a spiteful actress turned serial killer and a Miami liquidator who thinks he's Scarface. Her objective...to establish her own charity and rescue astrophysicist Avery Johnson, the love of her life whom she shot prior to entering a psychiatric ward, from a bad marriage.Based on actual events associated with the real Black Market, Denise's adventures explain how a select group of misfits is rising up to become America's new ruling class.
