Frank and Joe go undercover on a music video shoot as interns to find the culprit behind life-threatening letters to a pop star. The action is non-stop and will have you on the edge of your seat as the clues unravel to the killer. I loved this book and read it at least twenty times. This book is a definite must-read.

The RV Book Review

The RV Book
Average Reviews:

Author Polk knows his stuff, no question about that. What irks me is that instead of explaning topics in the book, which is why I bought it, he refers us to his web site to buy one of his videos. Hey Mark, I already paid for the book, tell me in the book!
Another aggravating example, in the section on RV insurance he "recommends" a certain insurer in a sidebar, and then, lo and behold, on the very next page that insurer has a full page advertisement telling us how great Mark is!
I will not buy another book from this overly commercial author. If I want advertisements I'll buy a magazine.

Tomorrow's Promise (Heartland #10)
Average Reviews:

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! It is similar to #9, Every New Day, and MUCH different from the other 8. It's not as sweet, sappy and unreal. Tomorrow's Promise is much more like reality. Amy's boyfriend, Ty, who is also a stable hand @ Heartland, seems to be preoccupied and distressed about something. He won't tell Amy what it is and because Amy knows how much she loves him and how important he is to everyone @ Heartland, she is concerned and distressed as well. Also, Amy's long lost father buys Lou and Amy a show horse named Storm! FACT: He is the mirror image of PEGASUS! BUT Younger. Ty and Grandpa know that they don't have the room, time, money, ect... for a competition horse like Storm. But Amy persuades Grandpa to let them keep him. But not everyone is convinced. Ty still doesn't think it's right to keep Storm because he knows that Amy can't do all of her chores, ride him, go to school, and help Lou learn 2 ride again! And he still seems preoccupied. So Amy doesn't want 2 upset him by talking about it and she's upset b/c she always used 2 b able 2 tell Ty everything. On top of that, at a show with Ben, a friend and stable hand @ Heartland too, Amy meets Daniel, a man, Ben's age, who has a talented jumper, a roan mare, but his horse well I'll just say it, looks like she was put together by a committee, aka she looks really bad. Daniel seems to hate the show scene and @ first Amy doesn't like him but as she gets to know him she realizes that all he has is the titles he wins and his horse. When his horse, Amber, gets grumpy and won't cooperate, Amy tries to convince Ty to drop of some herbs while they're picking up one of Nick Halliwell's horses that is coming to Heartland. Ty agrees but Amy can tell that he is still annoyed with her. In the end something drastic happens, that has a huge effect on everyone. Luckily, Amy and Ty still have their romantic moments. Don't we all love those?? lol. This a great book and worth ne body's time!

When Amy meets Daniel, she is stunned by his defensive nature. She can't figure out how someone with so much love for his horse could be so cold to everyone else. But as Amy gets to know Daniel, she begins to understand him.She respects that he won't give in to the pageantry of the elite show circuit - and that he doesn't care what others say about his horse.Daniel rides Amber like it's the two of them against the world. And Amy wants to do everything she can to help them conquer it.

When I went to look for that page again, I couldn't find it, like the gold under the rainbow. It will happen to you. At some point you'll discover the page that haunts your dreams, describes your world, or makes you smile.

Get this book. Get copies for your friends. If you've ever heard the voices under your bed and wanted to know their names, or wept at a sunset for no reason, or considered walking through the door at the back of the wardrobe, just in case--get this book. They're playing your song.

In 24 never-before-seen paintings, best-selling fantasy artist Brian Froud interprets the ancient and mystical runes of Celtic and European origin through Elfland, a world of faeries and myth. Each painting is inspired by a specific rune, richly symbolic and potent icons open to infinite interpretations. In the hands of the exceptional folklorist and poet Ari Berk, the secret meanings of these runes are revealed and their power is made manifest. In the pages of this book a single symbol provides the visual key to a host of mythic stories, lands, and adventures. By using the runes and Froud's paintings as tools to explore both the "seen" and the "unseen" world, readers of The Runes of Elfland will be inspired to reimagine their own lives and tell their own tales. Both storybook and oracle, Runes of Elfland provides a wellspring of personal insight for the Froud fan and the Faery aficionado.

This is a brilliant book about a girl called Wendy who is not a very good sportswoman, who rolls down a hill when their trailer gets unhooked and she finds herself in a sportscamp. She cant understand why all the kids are so determined to win and why they keep on disapppering, and. why the ground keeps on rumbling. She soon finds out when she follows the counsellors to a sort of fort in the woods, she then finds a starwell going underground. And she sees the most hideous creature in her life with all the six coin winners a great book that I recommmend to gross type of people.

The Wartime Jeep in British Service Review

For the Wartime JEEP enthusiast and a restauration guideline. The author made a deep search on the British Imperial War Museum archives and brought to public their JEEP photos treasure. The JEEP in British uniform. I missed the story and picture of the only Jeep in exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, London, one used by a British nurse of the Red Cross who kept it until long time after war when she finally gave it to the museum for restoration and display. He could have included its pictures and its story. Anyway it is an excellent book about this amazing little vehicle and should be in the shelves of any car or JEEP fan. I strongly recommend IT and believe me I am a very serious JEEP fan - Mario Williams -Brazil

RVers: How Do They Live Like That? Review

RVers: How Do They Live Like That

This is an unusual RV lifestyle book. It's not so much how-to, as it is an interesting and useful look at family ties, relationships, and the emotional changes and challenges involved in making a unique lifestyle choice. This really would be useful for RV owners considering full time (to get a reality check on their expectations), for people who love them and don't quite understand the choice, or for people facing the challenges of aging gracefully in any realm. It's even just an interesting book for people who like to hear about different cultures. The authors were professional counselers, put in some serious time interviewing lots of people, and bring that sophisticated insight to their writing and research.

In the Path of Falling Objects Review

In the Path of Falling Objects
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Brothers Jonah and Simon head out across the desert to find their father who is about to be released from prison in Arizona. Their mother has been gone for days, weeks even, perhaps, and their older brother is fighting in the jungles of Vietnam. It is 1970.
Enter Mitch and Lilly, a man and a girl, who pick the two hitchhikers up in a stylish and out-of-place convertible. Jonah is immediately drawn to the beautiful and flirtatious Lilly but feels wary of the unpredictable Mitch. Simon, on the other hand, is quick to please Mitch, enjoying his rakish intensity.
As Jonah struggles to put family first, he finds himself pitted against a man more dangerous than he could have ever imagined. The two boys soon find themselves hostage to the psychotic Mitch and they risk their lives to save Lilly and each other.
And then, of course, there is the gun.
Andrew Smith's In the Path of Falling Objects is an intense and nerve-wracking novel that intersperses Jonah's account of his and Simon's journey with letters from their older brother in Vietnam. The book begins with a shocking murder and the feeling of being trapped, of impending doom, of fear only increases the deeper you wade into this book. The tension is almost too much--I wish Andrew Smith had allowed for some space in the novel to breathe a sigh of relief and relax--but it all builds to a heart-stopping climax that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.
Be warned: there is much violence and death; Mitch is one of the most incredibly disturbing characters I have come across in YA fiction. Readers who like gritty, intense novels will want to give this a try. Everyone else should read this knowing it just might give you nightmares.

Life Lessons from a Ranch Horse Review

Life Lessons from a Ranch Horse
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is simply a great book, whether you are a horse person or not. In fact, so far I have given it to all my friends and employees, none of which are "horsey", and they all love it! It's hard to put into words what I have learned from it and what I continue to learn each time I read it. (4 times so far) Suffice it to say that it is the best book I've read in the last two years, and maybe longer. However, I must also say if you buy this because you are looking for a horse training book per si, then you will most certainly be disappointed. It isn't a training book in the literal sense. Rather it opens doors to possibilities that are available to us all not just with horses, but more importantly, in our overall daily lives. If you are looking to find better ways to help your horse through understanding and communication, or simply to help improve your life in general, then this one is for you. The lessons to be gleaned from this book are simple but very powerful. Right up there with another one of my favorites, The Tao of Pooh. I HIGHLY recomend this book.

Internationally renowned horse trainer Mark Rashid pays tribute to the horse that became his teacher. In Mark Rashid's fourth book, Life Lessons from a Ranch Horse, the teacher becomes the student when a nondescript, seven-year-old horse steps into his life. A famous horse trainer, known for listening to horses and working with them in a non-confrontational manner, Mark is faced with odd behavior from this horse, and he must reevaluate everything he understands about horses and about himself, as a trainer and as a person.Beginning with an untimely balk from Buck, who never falters, Mark tried to find out why it happened. Drawing on experiences as far reaching as the Navajo way and Japanese martial arts, Mark begins to piece together the workings of the mind of his horse. That process and the conclusions he reaches are the heart of this very personal story. What he finds challenges him to become a better horse trainer, but it also challenges him to become a better person. His argument that Buck, an everyday horse, has the ability to plan ahead and make choices in a consistent manner will challenge the reader to rethink his or her relationships with animals and way of dealing with life.In separate chapters, Mark describes the six life lessons he learned while working with Buck. Later in the book, he puts these lessons into practice, with topics such as blending, balance, and communication. Throughout the book, a philosophy of dealing with horses and of living life itself emerges.Mark's inimitable storytelling skills illuminate what Buck has to teach. Heart warming but gritty, Life Lessons From a Ranch Horse is not a conventional horse book. But, then again, Buck is not a conventional horse, nor is his owner a conventional horse trainer.

Film Composers in America: A Filmography, 1911-1970 Review

Film Composers in America: A Filmography, 1911-1970
Average Reviews:

What a wealth of information! If you love lists, you'll love this book, as it comprehensively details the composers (and orchestrators) who wrote the background scores, often anonymously, in the golden age of American motion pictures. It ends at 1970, which may seem arbitrary, but you can't complain about the author's resourcefulness in researching the extant archives of the major Hollywood studios. Invaluable for libraries and fact-collectors who want to know "who really wrote that score".

Film Composers in America is a landmark in the history of film. Here, renowned film scholar Clifford McCarty has attempted to identify every known composer who wrote background musical scores for films in the United States between 1911 and 1970. With information on roughly 20,000 films, the book is an essential tool for serious students of film and a treasure trove for film fans. It spans all types of American films, from features, shorts, cartoons, and documentaries to nontheatrical works, avant-garde films, and even trailers. Meticulously researched over 45 years, the book documents the work of more than 1,500 composers, from Robert Abramson to Josiah Zuro, including the first to score an American film, Walter C. Simon. It includes not only Hollywood professionals but also many composers of concert music--as well as popular music and other genres--whose cinematic work has never before been fully catalogued. The book also features an index that lets readers quickly find the composer for any American film through 1970. To recover this history, much of which was lost or never recorded, McCarty corresponded with or interviewed hundreds of composers, arrangers, orchestrators, musical directors, and music librarians. He also conducted extensive research in the archives of the seven largest film studios--Columbia, MGM, Paramount, RKO, 20th Century-Fox, Universal, and Warner Bros.--and wherever possible, he based his findings on the most reliable evidence, that of the manuscript scores and cue sheets (as opposed to less accurate screen credits). The result is the definitive guide to the composers and musical scores for the first 60 years of American film.

Alan Wake Review

It tells the same story of the game. It doesn't add anything At all to the story, it even removes some parts. The game is better. But it's the game in book form. Simple enough. No added extra's just Alan Wake for Xbox 360 told through words with a few grammar issues.
If you're the biggest Alan Wake fan ever, like me, you should get it. If you don't want to play the game, but you want the story, get it because the story's great!
If you're anything else, pass on this one and go by the Resident Evil books because they rule!
