Really the only thing I found that makes this one different from other more expensive racks, is the "U" piece (top of the rack that your bike actually sits on) is solid, it will not fold down. I really don't care about that feature, If my bikes are not on the rack, I take the rack off our vehicle. If you are looking to leave your rack mounted to your vehicle, you may want to spend the extra money and buy one that folds down.
