(More customer reviews)I have used this bike rack six times in the last seven months. The two stars are for the price and for the quality of the metal parts. It did not get five stars because of the poor quality of the rubber components.
The good: The quality of the metal parts and the paint is very good. The rack can go into a 1.25" or a 2" hitch with the included adapter. The rack is compact and light in weight. The hitch has a removable pin that allows the bar to tilt forward so you can open the vehicle's rear door (hatch).
The bad: It uses a bolt instead of a pin which means that you can't lock it with a lockable hitch pin. If you don't use a wrench to tighten the hitch bolt, the hitch will swing left and right and make noises. If you tighten it hard, some of the threads will strip. The rubber mounts that you rest the bike on slide all over the tube allowing the two bikes to touch and scratch each other. The rubber has a notch in which you slide the hook & loop straps through to secure them. The rubber gets pulled back and forth and stretched with the vehicle's movement. It broke on mine after just two uses. When this happens, the bike is unstrapped allowing it to fall off the rack. The reflectors that come with the rack have weak adhesive and fell off on my first trip.
