I don't know whether I have been spoiled by Foosball tables in the past or what, but the Carrom table seems mediocre in comparison. Part of the problem is that there is too much guesswork involved in putting the thing together. The one-sheet instructions are needlessly vague, with screws identified by numbers rather than photos. In one case it just says "use screws" and doesn't tell you which ones. While many of the parts have pre-drilled holes, there are several times when you just have to guess! The more times you guess, the more these imprecise measurements snowball until the table is just a skewed mess. They seemed to put a lot of thought/care into making sure that the rods spin and less thought into the rest of the table's construction. The handles on these tables are *wooden* rather than molded plastic, so they have a cheap feel to them. Furthermore, the screws that hold the handles onto the rods are not quite long enough (or the holes drilled in the handles vary to the point that the screws can't reach). What this means is that the screws come loose and the handles fly off the rods. The table has at least four "dead spots" where the ball rests in such a place that none of the players can hit it. This just seems like poor engineering. A final flaw is that they seem to have a problem keeping the rods straight during manufacture and shipping. Two of the rods were slightly bent which would cause a "wobble" so if you take your hand off the handle, the players feet would automatically drift upwards. They wouldn't stay still.
I think in order to improve this product, Carrom needs to make sure that there are pre-drilled holes in order to remove the guesswork. They need to produce assembly instructions that have photos of the screws in question. They need to figure out a way to remove the "dead spots" from the table. And they need to take more care of the rods that they ship out. I would not buy another Carrom table and this one is probably going to be sent back.

Finally, a foosball table fit for any room. Finely finished down to the last detail, the Carrom Signature foosball table combines quality with functionality. The Signature cabinet is covered with 1-inch-thick Black Marble Melamine, which adds a decorative touch to any rec room. The table also includes a colorful 0.375-inch playing surface with enamel screen-printed graphics designed to resist wear over time. And thanks to the heavy miter-fold black vinyl legs--which include triple-chrome-plated leg levelers--the table levels easily and accurately.
Playing-wise, the Signature table supports one- or three-goalie play (users decide when setting up the game), with corner ramps to keep the foosball from drifting into the corners during one-goalie mode. Carrom also tweaked the setup by creating two separate sets of players--one counter-balanced with a wider tournament-style foot pattern and the other hand painted. Finally, players will love the 5/8-inch-diameter, chrome-plated hollow steel rods and eight-sided hardwood handles, which allow for precise player control with every pass and shot. Other features include heavy 2-inch leg supports; a wood-beaded scoring system in blond and black; a high-impact-plastic ball return; and premium bearings for fast and smooth spinning. The foosball table measures 50.3 by 36 by 55 inches (W x H x D) with the rods extended and weighs 162 pounds.
