(More customer reviews)I shopped for a roof basket for my 06 Jeep Commander. I wanted a basket that would utilize my existing factory rack. The Valley rack compares favorably to the Yakima Load Warrior at 1/2 the price. The reviews on both racks are fantastic the only con on the Yakima is price. I purchased the extension as well off Amazon for about $55.00. The rack at 38" X 62" ended up costing about $215.00. Installation was a snap.

Even though brackets seem very secure I would like to see the mounting brackets enlarged to accomodate the larger rails on my vehicle (Tahoe Z71)locking more in place.

Curt 18115 Roof Mounted Cargo Rack Review

(More customer reviews)I received the rack recently and ound it to be good quality and good looking for what it is. I don't really understand the previous reviewer's complaint. The rack is black and looks like a black rack. I'm not sure what else is expected. As far as quality, I would not say it is upper end, but I would reserve that designation for a heavy duty rack designed to hold a lot of weight. This is a light duty rack that will hold suitcases camping equipment etc. just fine. A nice aspect of this is that it is light enough that it is easy to put on and take off if you do not want it on your vehicle all of the time. Plus, for the price, I think it is an exceptional buy so long as you buy it within its use constraints.Follow-up: I have had the rack for a few months now and am very happy with it. I have found that there is a little added wind noice when driving, but it is only noticable if there is no other sound in the car (which is very seldom). I like it enough that I recently purchased the rack extender. I have an Acadia and just the basic rack fits fine, but looks a little funny to me because it is fairly short compared to the length of the roof. Getting the extension makes it look better fitted and provides more room for carrying items.

Thule STL2 Snug-Tite Lock One Key System Locking Hitch Pin Review

(More customer reviews)MAKE YOUR OWN - This part is a total waste of money. I went to REI to pick-up this lock, when I asked the salesman the price he told me $50! I asked him why I could not simply use a small piece of chain to connect the rack to the trailer hitch. He told me I would be better off doing that and said just last weekend they had broken one off for a customer, with a single whack with a hammer (on the lock side which is thin evidently).
I picked up a small length of strong chain for $2.09 at the hardware store, put it through an old bike inner tube so it would not clang against the hitch and used two old padlocks to lock the chain ends to the rack and the trailer hitch (which is bolted and spot welded onto the car). So please, don't waste your money on the Thule STL2 Snug-Tite Lock II, MAKE YOUR OWN!
