If Nevada rancher Ty Hopewell and New York anthropology professor Madeline Blaine were Facebook Friends, their relationship would undoubtedly be characterized as "It's Complicated."
Ty blames himself for the accidental death of his ranching partner Skip Blaine who is also Madeline's brother. Madeline believes Ty is either bleeding her inherited share of the ranch's profits or he is incompetent. To learn the truth, she travels to the isolated Nevada ranch where she encounters more than she bargained for. Even the near-arctic cold and the blizzards of Nevada's Cowboy Country in the winter can't tamp down the burgeoning flame between them.

Complicating it all, Madeline is embroiled in an investigation into the falsification of academic test data. How will she handle the investigation while attempting to determine how the ranch began to lose money shortly after her brother's death? We know the pieces of the puzzle will eventually fall into place. The question is: How?
Jeannie Watt's touching story of accidental death, guilt, suspicion, conspiracy at the highest levels of academia, and romance, mixed with ample portions of everyday ranch life off the grid (electricity by intermittent and unreliable generators) is a compelling story you wont want to miss.
Check out how Jeannie converts a relationship from "It's complicated" to a deep and abiding love story between two wounded individuals.

No heat. No bed. And a cow…hanging from the rafters? What kind of ranch is this? No wonder Madeline's brother only sent pictures of the stunning Nevada landscape. He couldn't very well have convinced his family he was happy in this godforsaken place. But the cold outside is more bearable than the frosty partner she's inherited along with half of the ranch. Ty Hopewell. Not exactly Mr. Social.Never mind. She has every right to be here. She may be a city girl, but Madeline Blaine has a PhD and she's not afraid to use it. Something about this place-and this cowboy-just doesn't feel right. And she's going to figure out what it is. And fix it. Fix him, too…if she can.--This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.
