(More customer reviews)I loved the descriptions of the Santa Cruz Mountains in this mystery with a very real setting. But I think the best part is that McClure has a lot of things to say about friendship and family that we need to remember now and then.

McClure weaves an intriguing mystery while bringing the Santa Cruz Mountains to life. The story centers on Jack Bryce, an honest and hardworking family man who is a contracted Project Manager. In Ups & Downs, Bryce is hired to rebuild a theater in an amusement park, which was destroyed by a tragic roller coaster crash. As Bryce works to rebuild the theater in time for the Park's seasonal opening, he is drawn into the mysterious circumstances of the roller coaster crash where eighteen innocent souls tragically lost their lives without ever knowing why.
