Radio Flyer Classic Red Tricycle with Push Handle Review

We bought this tricycle for our three-year-old and had the same problem as everyone else here has - the steering on the handlebars just doesn't stay put. We've had to adjust ours numeous times too. It gets used, but it just isn't all that safe. You HAVE to use a helmet with this guy because it's VERY easy to tip over, which is a huge deal for the age group for which this is intended. It's nice that they kept the classic styling but there's one thing they shouldn't have kept - how dastardly easy it is to get your foot under that back bar and scrape the top of your foot! I did that a zillion times as a kid and now, I'm doing it again with my child's bike! I HATE that! And, I have the scars to prove it.
All-in-all, if you like nostalgia, then by all means, avail yourself of this product. But quite frankly, I'd buy something else more study. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone letting their child use this product unsupervised. It just tips over way too much. I get the willies each time I see this guy go down the driveway. Good thing I've been there each time this thing has tipped over.

Balance Buddy (Adjustable) Review

Balance Buddy (Adjustable)
Average Reviews:

We got this to help our reluctant son prepare to ditch the training wheels. We made a deal that he would try riding with the balance buddy for one week, and if he didn't feel more confident, we would reinstall his training wheels. Much to our surprise, after two, 15-minute sessions on consecutive days, he was riding completely independently. We loved seeing our son's confidence level soar to the point that, after 3 sessions, he demanded we remove the balance buddy. Therefore, despite the fact that the balance buddy is a well made, sturdy backsaver, we got very little use out of it.
Instead of abandoning it in the storage shed, we decided to attach it to our 3 1/2 year old daughter's bike, assuming that it would remain there for quite some time. We expected it to take much longer, but after about 8 sessions, she is riding on her own with only an occasional need for assistance. I feel that the Balance Buddy is infinately better than training wheels in helping children learn to balance, as it allows them to sense when they are leaning and self-correct. I highly recommend this for any child who is ready to kick the training wheel habit!!

Prince Lionheart Balance Bike Review

Prince Lionheart Balance Bike

I was very excited when I ordered this bike and had high hopes. My son loved it but we only had the opportunity to ride it a few times. After a spill the steering arm broke away from the body of the bike. He is only 2 & 1/2 and weighs 35 lbs so I do not believe it was from excessive wear and tear. I have not yet contacted the manufacturer but will be doing so and plan to update this review. Depending on how the situation is handled I may be updating this review. Aside from the break it could be a great product and would get 4-5 stars. FYI, the break didn't cause the fall.
-Update: I contacted Prince Lionheart directly about the break and they are shipping me a replacement part with no hassles. Its nice when a business/manufacturer does the right thing. I do hope the break was a fluke. I will be adjusting my rating on the product. Great customer service!! There were reviews questioning the quality of the bike. The break aside I was impressed at the quality for the cost.
-My son still loves the bike and is learning to coast and balance well. The replacement part arrived promptly and without incident. We get so many comments and questions when we are riding at the park from curious and impressed parents. I am excited to get him on a big boy bike without training wheels. It should be an easy transition.

WeeRide Stage Coach Double Bike Trailer Review

WeeRide Stage Coach Double Bike Trailer

We were undecided while searching for a bike trailer. I specifically was looking at the safety features and ease of attaching to a bike. The trailer was easy to set up. No tools were needed. It was set up in less than 5 minutes. It's lightweight and easy to tow around on your bike. My son, who is 18 months old, absolutely loves it. I do have to agree with a couple of the reviews though in regards to having 2 kids in there. My son sits comfortably by himself in the middle. If there were 2 kids, it looks like they might be cramped. There are 3 sets of seatbelts, so it's nice to have your choice of where you want your child to sit. Since he's by himself, he gets to sit in the middle. There's plenty of leg room for the kids and there's a small space underneath their seat to put maybe a jacket or blanket or whatever else. The pockets on the inside of the trailer are nice, so the kids can put their drinks or something else in there. There's a specific feature on this trailer that I didn't see listed on the others. It's a spring adjustment were it hooks onto the bike. It keeps the trailer upright, in case the bike tips over and it does work. I've hit the edge of the curb a couple of times from going off and on the sidewalks and from not paying attention. I noticed the trailer stays on the ground. I was very impressed. It does come with a safety flag and it easily slides along one of the rear sides, in between the canvas and the metal frame and stays put. I love the choice of the mesh screen or the clear plastic cover for wind or bad weather. I'm so glad we picked this trailer. I highly recommend it, when it comes available again.Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven Trilogy, Book 1)The Hollow (Book Two of the Sign of Seven Trilogy)
