The book is perfect for use as an ME undergrad elective textbook. It provides a solid foundation for more advanced work.
It spends a great deal of time treating the vehicle as a rigid body. Eventually a linearized dynamic model is developed.
The book is a first semester text because it jumps from a rigid body model to the linearized dynamic model without a rigorous study of the non-linear aspect of the system, the suspension. It is not enough to state that a chassis/suspension system can be reduced to an equivalent roll stiffness. The exact science behind chassis roll is ignored.
All needed first semester dynamics info is provided. Alot of knowledge can be deduced from the material within.
If you are a student of engineering and need a solid first look at vehicle dynamics, get this book.
