These straps had quality issues from the box. One buckle/loop is assembled too tight to it's mount, thus making it very hard to adjust the strap or open it when you want it opened.
Fabric padding behind buckle is sewn on way too high on one strap. It doesn't cover the entire bottom of the strap to protect the boat from the buckle. Padding on both buckles is very narrow, just barely covers the sides. 1/4 to 1/2" extra on each side would be perfect.
Velcro straps to hold loose strap and buckle closed could be a bit longer, but they do work, just fold the strap perfectly. Again, one side has a bit longer strap and it's sewn a little bit differently.
Quality control on these seems to be an issue from one strap to the next.
If I need another set I'll pass on these and spend literally five more bucks to get a nicer set. You live and you learn. They hold the boat on the trailer so far, but with the quality issues I look at them much more often to make sure they don't work loose.
