This is a well made quality product and makes it a little easier to tie up the rear of the boat.
It's a easy one step process and there is no keeping up with where you left the loose straps as before.
I bought the stainless steel model and believe it will last a lot longer than the standard.

The hood loops worked well to successfully carry my canoe on top of my car. I would recommend them.

I had this on my wish list for months. My family bought BoatBuckles for me for Father's Day. I had no idea they would make such a difference.
My previous tie-down straps were the type that have a fold-over buckle that was pretty easy to use but they did have to be put away in the back of the SUV when launching and fetched when putting the boat back on the trailer. As the boat doesn't always sit exactly in the same spot I'd have to adjust the length of the strap each time. I thought they were fine. However after using the BoatBuckles a few times I wish I'd had them much sooner.
Mounting was easy on my trailer. I just drilled a single hole to mount each buckle. Now all I have to do to launch is push a button and retract the hook and strap. When retrieving the boat just pull the hook up to the eye on the back of the boat and give it a few pulls on the ratcheting buckle. Very easy. No adjusting for boat position on the trailer, no hunting for the straps in the tow vehicle.
This has actually taken a minute or two off both launching and retrieving. I don't have to hunt through the stuff in the back of the SUV to find the straps. What this has done is allowed us to hook up on the launch ramp and drive straight home without the traditional stop to do final prep before going home.
The quality of the BoatBuckles is very good, they are easy to use, and save time. Well worth the money.
If you boat in salt water consider buying the stainless version.

This is the third set of tie-downs I've had to purchase for my bass boat in nine years, and probably the last. These are so much easier to operate than the previous two different brands I had tried. You don't have to hold the release button, just activate it one time and then you can pull the straps out to hook up or retract. And the ratcheting function is positive and does not release until you press the release button. I don't put my boat in salt water but still decided to get the stainless steel because of the poor performance of the previous non-stainless steel sets I had. You'll have to man-up to install them and tighten them in place but they aren't going to come off when you finish as the running torque is high. But then that's what I wanted it to be. I didn't want them to flop around when disconnected from the boat. You won't be sorry you bought the BoatBuckle.

Sherpak Quick Loops (Pair) Review

If you are a small car rooftop kind of guy (e.g. my Jetta TDI), I'm sure you've run into situations where you would have liked to secure your load by tying to a bumper front and back. I ran into that with my new Kayaks. Then you found there are no connection points anywhere near your bumpers, they are made of vinyl, and even if there were connections the ropes would cause bad rubs on your hood and trunk lid paint.
These loops work great, giving you a secure tie point anywhere you can catch them in a seam (hood, trunk, door, etc). The only drawback was that they should have a stainless or brass hook or loop at the end so you don't wear out the strap by rope rubs (after many trips). I added some stainless S hooks and squeezed the end around the strap so they would not fall off.
This is a good idea. If you have a roof rack, buy these loops and keep them in your trunk. You will be happy to have them when the time comes.Sherpak Quick Loops (Pair)
