FoldLite 10 Ft Folding Kayak Review

The skin of these boats is made from coated 300 denier nylon- like an ultralight rain tarp. One bump against a submerged rock will slice the skin wide open. There are no flotation chambers, and no place to secure float bags for safety. The frame is made from folded corrugated plastic (Coroplast). There's no skeg to give the boat directional stability, with the result that it's almost uncontrollable. For the same money you can buy a quality inflatable with a heavy gauge PVC hull from Sea Eagle, and for a few dollars more you can buy a solid, reliable folder with an 1100 denier Hypalon coated hull from Pakboats or Folbot.

I've used this a couple of times now, and I like it a lot. It's light, tows very easy, and does not bounce around. The instructions were very good and all the parts were there. Nothing negative at all.
