I picked up this little tool, and I was able to see the problem was not my trailer, but the light controller on my car. Was able to replace that with the MFG and now all is working. Saved me from more work looking at the trailer.

(More customer reviews)Anyone needing to wire up a trailer should take a close look at this item. I had already purchased the individual components locally to fashion a "homemade" power cord when I discovered this on Amazon. Being factory made and assembled (in the USA) as well as having a very competative price really appealed to me. In fact, I purchased this quality made-right power cord cheaper than my investment for the components which I returned for a refund. Just a reminder, as others have mentioned, do not rely on the color coding of the wires--use a test light.
