Rising to the Occasion: A Practical Companion For the Occasionally Perplexed Review

This book makes a great graduation gift for the kids who know all there is to know about computers, but haven't learned some of life's basics like writing a decent thank you note, proposing a wedding toast or carving a turkey (a favorite test given by future fathers-in-law to unsuspecting young men). The instructions are humorous, clear and mercifully brief. I think most recipients would appreciate, enjoy and use it.

Joseph Altsheler wrote a series of books about the settling of the frontier during the time of the America Revolution. His writing is clean and descriptive. A good book to read to a young reader - maybe a chapter per day.

From the Trailer Park to the E.R. Review

I loved the book. Very well written, funny and easy to read. True stories based on the idiocracy that is human kind. It's the Darwin awards on steroids. A must read for health professionals, (or people who want to be health professionals) as well as lay people. I just hope you don't recognize yourself in one of the chapters.

A collection of emergency room stories told from a different perspective than the average "heroic" angle. Hilarious! A must read for any healthcare worker.
